Property and Application:
It is the important material to make alkyd, polyurethane, cellophane and detonator. It is transparant viscous liquid with no or light yellow color. There is no suspending, and no smell. It will improve the osmotic pressure of blood plasma, so as to be dehydrating agent. When used externally, it is hygroscopic and moisture absorbing, and will intenerate part of fat layer.
It is used as additive widely applied in fields of cosmetics, food emulsifier, drug, tobacco, lubricant, plastics, printing and dyeing, press, paper making, leather, dope, pesticide, mechanical processing and etc. While used in industry, it is usually used as hygroscopic agent, antifreeze, solvent and assistant agent.
